Hidden Mold

A water loss in the attic of this home led to damage in the ceiling area of the second floor.  The leak had been ongoing and was not noticed until the paint on the ceiling began to bubble.  The homeowners quickly called SERVPRO of Mobile County out to handle the situation.  Due to the humid conditions here along the Gulf Coast and the abundance of length of time the materials had been wet, we found visible mold growth as well.  Our first step was to set up a containment area to ensure that we did not disrupt any mold spores that would be distributed to other areas of the home.  We then set up drying equipment to remove excess water and moisture.  We used a dehumidification system with an exhaust outside of the home to complete the drying of the attic timbers.
